MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES FOR BIPOC

The resources listed below are dedicated to giving support for those who struggle with mental health within the black community. These resources are created by BIPOC for BIPOC, so you will always feel like you are entering a safe and supportive space.

Therapy services

  • Clinicians of color: This website lists therapists of color that are located near you. The website provides all you need to know such as payment type, certification and therapy services.
  • Inclusive therapists:   Inclusive therapists provides a list of therapists that provide different types of therapy services to Indigenous peoples , people of color, people with disabilities and the LGBTQ community. 
  • Therapy for black men: Therapy for black men is an organization dedicated towards breaking down the stigma behind black men and mental health. In doing so they provide therapy services to black men. 
  • Clarity therapy NYC: Clarity therapy is a resource that connects you with therapists located in NYC.

  • Black mental health matters: A podcast created to give a voice to people in the black community who struggle with mental health. Their goal is to bring awareness and resources to those who are underserved or underrepresented. 

  • Between sessions: Within the black community there are many topics regarding mental health that are not talked about. This podcast is led by two black women (who are also therapists), who discuss mental health, stigma, healing, and taboo topics when it comes to the black community. 

  • Celeste the therapist:  Celeste Vicere is a licensed therapist who created a podcast dedicated towards breaking negative cycles that impact your mental health. Every week she discusses topics dealing with relationships, self improvement and healing. 

  • Minding my black business:  Being a black entrepreneur comes with many challenges. Challenges that can impact your overall well being. Minding my black business is a podcast that talks about these challenges and how to overcome them as a black entrepreneur. 

Strong hearts heartline: A helpline for native and indigenous people who are experiencing sexual and domestic abuse. This helpline also provides support and advocacy, abuse education, and legal advocacy referrals. 

Racial equity support line: A support line led by people of color who experience and face racism. Staff that are a part of this organization understand the trauma that comes with racism and the impact it has on mental health. They are dedicated to providing support, a listening ear and offer resources to those who are facing the impact of racism. 

Call Black line: Systematic oppression is a big environmental factor in poor mental health. Talking about your experience is the first step to taking control over your mental health. Call black line is a call line created by BIPOC that provides a safe space for BIPOC to express their mistreatment from oppression.
