MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES FOR MEN

Millions of men suffer from depression and other mental illnesses each year. Many go underdiagnosed. The resources listed below are dedicated to giving support to men who are currently struggling with mental illness. Many of these resources are by men for men. 

General mental health websites 

  • Face it foundation: This website is all about empowering men to recover from depression. In doing so they provide support groups, one on one sessions, retreats and blog posts. The goal is for men to take control over their recovery.
  • Man therapy:   Man therapy is a website for men who are struggling with depression, substance abuse, anxiety, trauma, and anger. They also have resources for veterans. The website provides resources, mental health education, and tips on managing your mental health.

Support groups

  • Men’s group:   Men’s group provides resources that support men for self improvement and navigating obstacles.  The team consists of trained therapists, consolers, and life couches. 
  • Evry Man: A community of men created for men. This community offers activities for a better quality of life such as meditation and yoga,. They also offer retreats, online groups and trainings. Their goal is to destigmatize men’s vulnerability and promote men to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. 

 

THERAPY SERVICES

  • Therapy for black men: Therapy for black men is an organization dedicated towards breaking down the stigma behind black men and mental health. In doing so they provide therapy services to black men. 
  • Clarity therapy NYC: Clarity therapy is a resource that connects you with therapists located in NYC. 

                            

PODCASTS

  • Jay shetty podcast:  Jay shetty was a monk for 3 years. He decided he  wanted to share the wisdom he learned within those 3 years.  He is now a best selling author and is known for sharing tips for self improvement. His episodes dive deep into self improvement, finding purpose, and understanding relationships. 

  • The anxious truth: The anxious truth is a podcast created by a man named Drew Insalata. Drew is a former suffer of depression, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. On his podcast he talks about topics such as trauma, anxiety, recovery, therapy and more. 

  • The men’s self help podcast:A podcast created for men speaking on topics such as mental illness, relationships and self improvement.
