GENERAL WEBSITES/INFORMATION

  • Finding Help: knowing when and how to seek help is very important when maintaining your mental health. This guide explains when you should seek help and the steps in doing so. 
  • Talking to my parents about my mental health:  Speaking to a parent or guardian about how you are feeling can be tough. Questions like “where do I start,  “when should I speak with them” or “will they understands me” may prevent you from reaching out.  This page answers some questions you may have about reaching out to a parent or guardian.
  • Social media and mental health: Social media is becoming a big part of peoples everyday lives. Especially for teens. This information speaks about the impact social media has on your mental health and how you can prevent those negative impacts. 

TEEN SUPPORT 

  • Teen Talk: A website that provides support and resources for teens. This website also provides all the information you need to know regarding  mental health, treatment, and other mental health related topics.  
  • Teen Line: Teen line provides nonjudgmental and anonymous support for teens. Their goal is to destigmatize and normalize prioritizing teen mental health. You can speak with trained professionals through email, text or a phone call. 
  • Crises text line :A text line for any type of crises. They provide help for those dealing with gun violence, eating disorders, anxiety, self harm, depression and more.

PODCASTS

  • on our minds: A Podcast hosted by two teen reporters who speak about the biggest mental health challenges that young people face. Not only do they speak about many different mental health topics, they also speak with psychologists, athletes, and authors to discuss mental health and well being. 
  • She persisted:  She persisted is a podcasted created by 19 year old Sadie Sutton who has treatment for severe depression and anxiety. Her goal is to speak out on her personal experience with  mental health to break down the stigma. She also discusses self improvement tips and DBT education.
